A cozy room

In the early morning, you feel the chill as the wood stove, now lukewarm, has gently died down during the night. Curled up under the covers, you open one eye.

Sourced local furniture, sheepskins, Swiss army blankets, and pine paneling create a unique and comfortable mountain setting. Handcrafted in Switzerland, the Elite bed invites you to linger. The essential Swedish wood stove is all you need to keep the space warm.

Mountain view

At an altitude of 1,700 meters, watching the sunrise from the terrace is an intoxicating spectacle. With icy crackles, birdsong, and the yapping of sled dogs in the crisp, wood-smoke-scented air, every morning feels like the dawn of time.

With an atmosphere that is part Jack London, part luxury lodge, we discover the Whitepod estate, which we caught a glimpse of the night before while hiking for ten minutes in snowshoes from the Les Cerniers chalet—where reception is located—to our "pod," a new type of eco-friendly dwelling.

Attached to each platform, a wood storage area keeps the stove fueled. Scattered across the snowfield, the "pods" give the site the look of an orbital station.

Igloos on stilts

Right in front of the bed, a spectacular panorama unfolds, visible through the polyester texture of the tent. Topped by snow-capped peaks and dotted with firs, the Rhône Valley stretches out toward Lake Geneva, which slowly emerges from the morning mist.

Perched on wooden platforms anchored firmly into the slope, the fifteen geodesic domes are individual 40 m² homes.

Mounted on a faceted metal frame, the padded polyester "canvas" features a transparent section facing the valley. On the terrace, folding chairs allow you to take in the view.

A chalet-style restaurant

This exclusive, stunning estate features seven kilometers of ski slopes with private lifts, two chalets, a restaurant, a bar, and a wellness area with a Japanese pool and Finnish sauna…

The mix of fir paneling, animal hides, patterned cushions, and designer furniture puts a modern twist on traditional mountain decor.

An eco-friendly bathroom

Decidedly eco-conscious, the site is full of innovative initiatives. The igloos are made from recyclable materials and set on removable platforms to avoid damaging the alpine pastures. Water is supplied from an upstream spring, while guests are encouraged to use their oil lamps in the evening. Here, you can take care of yourself, far from the hustle and bustle of daily life, but above all, you can rediscover a form of happy simplicity.

Entirely paneled in natural wood, the intentionally minimalist bathroom reflects an eco-conscious spirit.
